SEC’s new targeting rule will go into effect this football season. During Auburn spring game there was a hit by Jonathan Mincy on Dimitri Reese that led to Mincy’s ejection as well as a 15 yard penalty. Fans have debated the call but SEC has now reviewed the game film and declared the call would not have been overturned in a game situation.
This rule will impact games in 2013.

College football fans are very well aware of the escalation of rights fees in the past few years. In fact, anyone who subscribes to a cable or satellite service sees evidence of the continual escalation of rights fees in their monthly bill – but is it a bubble (and unsustainable price escalation that has far outpaced actual consumer demand) or normal market functioning?

The SEC Baseball Tournament is in progress but UGA did not make the show. It’s not easy to miss the SEC tournament. Only two teams are excluded in the new format and Georgia was one of those.
