The Georgia pipeline for Cincinnati:

There’s something about the boys that play in the red clay that just works at the next level in Cincinnati. Since head coach Marvin Lewis came to Cincinnati in 2003, the Bengals have drafted a total of 91 players (excluding the 2013 class who has yet to see the field; 2013 had 10 draft picks). Of those draft picks, 19 of them never saw the field during a regular-season game as a Bengal. Either they were cut during training camp, battled injuries or simply weren’t good enough to make it at the next level.Of the remaining 72 players that were drafted since 2003 and played a game in a Bengals uniform, seven are former Georgia Bulldogs: Robert Geathers, Odell Thurman, David Pollack, Clint Boling, Geno Atkins, A.J. Green and Orson Charles. It should also be noted that backup tackle Dennis Roland is also a Georgia product although he wasn’t drafted by Cincinnati.

Seven out of 72 isn’t that impressive—just under 10 percent. However, if we look at the impact of those specific seven players, we see that the Bengals front office might be on to something. Those seven players have started in 76 percent of the games they’ve played in.

Hookah make you crazy:

According to FOX8-TV in Cleveland, Akron football player Seth Cunningham is facing a charge of aggravated robbery following an incident late Thursday night.  And by “incident,” we mean the cornerback allegedly held up a tobacco pipe store at gunpoint.Per the television station, “Cunningham, 21, entered the 24-hour store on Pearl Road Monday and waved a 9mm handgun in the air. He stole a water pipe worth $447 before taking off.”

Brunswick (Ohio) police caught up with and arrested Cunningham, who they allege admitted to the robbery.  He was taken to a county jail but was subsequently released after a $30,000 bond was posted.

Oklahoma State’s Gundy refuses transfer to SEC:

Quarterback Wes Lunt‘s transfer list just got shorter.Oklahoma State is restricting Lunt from transferring to either Southeastern Conference schools or Southern Miss, where Lunt’s former offensive coordinator Todd Monken is now the head coach.Cowboys spokesman Gavin Lang confirmed the news via email after CBSSports.com spoke with a source with direct knowledge of Lunt’s transfer process. When asked why the SEC and Southern Miss were restricted, Lang said that decision is between Lunt and coach Mike Gundy.

Lunt was reportedly considering SEC schools Tennessee and Vanderbilt along with Southern Miss, Louisville and Illinois. One college coach tracking the Lunt situation heard about the restriction from Lunt’s high school coach, Derek Leonard out of Rochester (Ill.) High School.

The only SEC team Oklahoma State has on its immediate schedule is Mississippi State in 2013. Oklahoma State and Southern Mississippi are not currently scheduled to play.

The King of the one string guitar, Brushy is the quintessential Jamaican artist; creative, ingenious, talented and entertaining. The son of legendary Jamaican artist, the late Freddie McKay, Brushy truly does sound like a complete band when he runs his fingers through his one-string guitar. Yet perhaps what sets Brushy apart, is the powerful and soulful nature of his original songs. After touring Japan, England and New York in the early nineties, Brushy’s career remained dormant until he resurfaced a few years ago thanks to a Jamaican TV show which featured him repeatedly. This, along with a cameo appearance in the recent cult reggae documentary RiseUp, is giving Brushy the comeback of his life. His videos continue to go viral, exploding throughout the world, and his fans eagerly anticipate his return to the world stage.

Commit to Georgia

The Georgia Bulldogs are taking a different approach for the class of 2014 than they did for the 2013 one.  At this point last year the Bulldog coaches knew they were going to be able to sign anywhere from 32-36 guys, but things are a little tighter this year.  Right now it seems that Georgia will be able to sign anywhere from 18-22 guys in this class.  The stressful part of that is, who is a take and who is not?  The Bulldogs are in the lead or in the lead group for a bunch of guys, but Georgia does not have the numbers to take them all.  Here is a breakdown by position for the 2014 class.
