Fred Munzenmaier was the only player in green today, and he was still running through most of the early drills. He won't be involved in any contact stuff, but beyond that he looked fine. The handful of green-clad players from spring practice Day 1 were all back to work today.Watched the secondary work for a while today. Here's how the teams shook out:
First team -- Boykin, Cuff, Bacarri Rambo and Shawn Williams
Second team -- Branden Smith, Sanders Commings, Jakar Hamilton and Nick Williams
Third team -- Jordan Love, Makiri Pugh, Quintin Banks and Corey Dunson (a walk-on)
Probably not worth reading a ton into that at this point, but Williams' run with the first-teamers probably means he did something to catch Scott Lakatos' attention.

Bobo said A.J. Harmon was working extensively at left tackle this spring in hopes of building some additional depth on the offensive line.
«We're rotating him a lot in with the ones just to get him some experience playing with those guys and get him some confidence,» Bobo said. «He moved over at the end of his redshirt freshman year. This is his second spring, and he's a little bit behind. It's learning what to do from a confidence standpoint because there's no doubt he's got some ability. We just need him to take that on the field and be able to execute offensively.»

AJC:

On the practice field today, there are many fewer green non-contact jerseys, signifying injured players, than in the first session of spring ball March 4. In fact, the only green jersey I see today is on fullback Fred Munzenmaier (shoulder). (The QBs are wearing black jerseys,  signifying non-contact but not injury.)

«I like what we've seen with Caleb (King) and Washaun (Ealey),» Richt said. «Carlton Thomas has been practicing extremely well. He's competing, and he's not just going to sit there and watch comfortably. He's having a fine spring. I think we'll see more of what Dontavius (Jackson) can do, because he was injured most of last season and now he looks healthy.»

In the months since the season ended, Richt said Ealey has only managed to climb even higher up the learning curve, and when he hit the field Tuesday at practice, his head coach marveled at how far Ealey had come.

«Washaun is just a whole lot different than a year ago in my opinion,» Richt said. «He was a true freshman. He wasn't in the greatest of shape, and now he's in much better shape, he knows what to do, and he's having fun out there practicing with a lot of tempo and confidence.»

Since my closest access was to new defensive coach, Warren Belin, I listened in to see what he was all about. I loved the fact that he is all business and wants what he is teaching done to perfection. «We're going to do it all day … you guys act like you've never done bag drills before,» Belin barked. And then he continued, «I want us to move fellas … do it my way.» However Belin was quick to offer praise to Marcus Dowtin when he earned it. As far as first encounters go, I'm a big fan of Belin. His body and mind are in great shape, which should equate to success for our defense.
