Dawgs offer speedy wide receiver.

The Georgia Bulldogs sent an offer to Washington HS WR Zach Witchett this past week. Witchett is known as one of the fastest players in the southeast running a 4.4 40 yard dash. Witchett was expecting to receive an offer from UGA at their Junior Day this weekend but when he went to his mailbox there it was. Two former Washington players played for Georgia last season and showed Witchett around when the Bulldogs played Auburn last season.

UGA VIII says that we need to thank Kirby Smart for getting us to Todd Grantham.

If you were to put the resumes side-by-side, its not even close - Grantham blows Kirby out of the water. During the weekend of Kirby's big decision, I had heard that Kirby and Grantham would both be DC's in the SEC - we just didn't know which one would be in Athens and which one would be in Tuscaloosa. I got really worried that Saban was gonna pull one over on Richt. While most of the DawgNation was upset with Kirby for using his alma mater for a big payday @ Bama, I was thanking him for staying put while I remained hopeful that we would hire Grantham. Luckily, our search finally ended a few days later.

Arkansas QB breaks foot - out for spring practice.

The injury will place the junior — who contemplated an early jump to the NFL after his redshirt sophomore season with the Razorbacks — on the sidelines for spring practice. Arkansas announced the injury in a press release Wednesday night.

«It is unfortunate since Ryan works extremely hard and has made a commitment to the Razorbacks,» Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino said in the press release. «I am confident in our athletic trainers and medical staff and believe they are the best in the country. Ryan is a strong competitor who I know will put all his effort into overcoming his injury and continuing to lead this team.»

Breaking News: People use cocaine.

THE rivers of Italy are flowing with cocaine, say scientists who have adopted a new approach to measuring the extent of drug misuse. The biggest river, the Po, carries the equivalent of about 4kg (8lb 13oz) of the drug a day, with a street value of about £20,000.

...a team led by Dr Ettore Zuccato, of the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Milan, estimated the use of cocaine by testing the waters of the Po for BE, and for any cocaine that had passed through the body unaltered or reached the sewers in other ways.

SEC OUT-OF-CONFERENCE GAME OF THE YEAR

There are a number of great SEC out-of-conference games this year, but none may come at a more important time than Georgia's trip to Boulder the first week of October. This game will be UGA's third road trip in five weeks; and it will be following games at South Carolina, Arkansas and at Mississippi State. It is a must win for the Bulldogs, and Colorado coach Dan Hawkins needs a win against UGA to save his job. With two weeks to prepare for UGA, the Buffalos will be ready. This is a huge game for Richt and should be exciting to watch
