The trip to Athens for signing day was interesting. I thought there was an excellent turnout and the mood of those in attendance was pretty good. There was some carping about the quality of the class but the most common sentiment was to wait and see what the new defensive staff can do with the players.

The loss of Da'Rick Rogers is a blow but is it really that big? I just don't think so because of the depth at wide receiver. Perhaps after Green leaves next fall we'll wish we had him. But there is always a stud WR coming along, we just have to connect next time.

«It's disappointing to have a high school player be committed for so long and come up at the last minute because it hurts. It hurts the football team tremendously and the recruiting class. In that case, another player could have had that spot or had a chance to come here and play. I'm not going to call it selfish because they're high school players. Most of them do it for the hype or to have their name out there. But it just shows you what kind of player that person is. Me, Coach Martinez left before I even got here.
